This year the 100th edition of the Tour de France, starting for the very first time in Corsica is 3,360 km (2,087 miles) in length with 21 stages. The average stage length is 160 km (99 miles) with the longest stage being a monster 242 km (150 miles) on Bastille Day (14 July) including Mont Ventoux. The tour will be tackled by 22 teams and a total of 198 riders.

There are three time trial stages, one team (Stage 4 – Nice) and two individual TT’s, each of 33KM (20 miles). The total amount of climbing is estimated to be a whopping 30,415 metres including 28 categorized climbs.
